Micromax has introduced two new tablets to the Indian market called the Micromax Funbook P365 and Funbook P256. They are priced at Rs.7, 990 and Rs.5, 490 respectively. The Funbook P365 tablet comes with a 7-inch TFT display with IPS capacitive touch screen display. It has a resolution of 640 X 480 pixels which is mere modest in comparison to other similar priced tablets in the market. The specs are low but doing basic jobs like playing games and listening to music won’t be much of a problem. It also features voice calling functionality. It can access the internet with the help of 2G and Wi-Fi networks. However, it does not support 3G connectivity. The device can also transfer personal data via Bluetooth and micro USB available for the tab.

Micromax Funbook P365 Specifications

The Funbook P365 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a Mali 400 GPU. It has 1GB RAM but due to pre-installed apps only round about 700 MB RAM is available for our use. Most of the apps present on the play store will be supported by these specs. The only problem will occur during multi-tasking on the Funbook as due to the RAM not be utilized fully, the apps will be lagging a little. The Funbook runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and comes with 4GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card.

Micromax Funbook P365 Features

The tablet also features a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The camera quality is decent enough during the day time but with no flash available, clicking photos during night time can be a difficult task with it. The tab is backed by a 2,800mAh battery which is of the type of 3.7V Li-Polymer. It can provide a usage of around 4 hours of browsing time and 60 hours of standby with a single full charge.

Some of the connectivity options present with the tab are 2G with voice calling features, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot and also a USB 2.0 port. It cannot support 3G by the SIM Card but is expected to be connected to a 3G Dongle.

The media support provided by the Funbook is also decent enough for normal daily use. The audio formats supported by the Funbook are MP3, AMR, IMY, WAV whereas the video formats supported by the Funbook are MP4, MOV, and MPEG 2/4. Other features of the Funbook include G-Sensor, Accelerator Sensor, Pinch Zoom, Email, POP3, IMAP4, IMAP idle and WAP. The tab also comes with a 12 Months Manufacturer Warranty in the case of it being damaged.

Micromax Funbook P365 Price

For the price of Rs.8, 000, this tab is perfect for people who want to provide their children with a basic first tab to get their hands dirty with. It doesn’t offer any more than that. If you have a little more extra cash in your pocket, I would refer to buy the Nexus 7 instead.
